Have you ever been on a roof-top deck and noticed the floor? Nice and even in a color that matches the house perfectly? Chances are you were admiring a vinyl membrane roofing system, mostly like one from Duradek. This type of roofing has been around since the mid-1970’s and replaced the older paint-on style of membrane roofing. If your home has a flat roof you might already be familiar with membrane roofing. If not, keep reading to learn more.
Tough
Unlike traditional membrane systems, Duradek is a sheet vinyl membrane system.Old versions were messy, paint-on liquid systems that were difficult to apply and prone to leaks. The liquid systems were hard to apply evenly, so they usually didn’t look very good, either. Duradek allows for a more uniform look across the roof and comes in a variety of colors so you can pick whichever one suits your roof.
Weatherproof
Since Duradek is manufactured and installed in sheets, there are seams that need to be welded together by a hot air process. This essentially forms the separate sheets into one large covering that is completely waterproof.
Immediate
Duradek takes far less time to install than liquid membrane roofing, and can be installed in nearly any weather. This eliminates the need to close off an area during installation, which can be a huge problem if you are having Duradek installed at a business.
